Northern Shakedown Sounds Like: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, Drake, Frank Ocean
Northern Shakedown is a band from Seattle that blends influences ranging from R&B and Classic Rock to Hip-Hop and Post-Rock. The group is comprised of two pairs of brothers that have been close friends for over 10 years. The four of them met through church where each of them spent some time playing for the worship team and improving their musical abilities.
Cavalerie Sounds: Our styles include funk, jazz, hip-hop, Latin, and rock.
We like to think that our music has a feel all of its own we definitely barrow from different types, but don’t do it in the traditional sense. From pairing kazoos with trombones in a psychedelic funk hip hop mash to meshing traditional Japanese scales with Latin jazz hip-hop. As musicians we like to experiment, cross musical boundaries and challenge the norm but at the end of the day, we want people to feel the groove.
Gig Harbor’s very own Grunge Band
Saturday, September 20th at 8:00pm All ages
Mystery Machines Sounds Like: *Black Flag*, Nirvana, Mudhoney
These gentleman emerged from the depths of Gig Harbor. Tired of the way things were going, they formed into the grunge super-group pledging to always rock socks, never make Scooby Doo references, and to, of course, stay groovy.
The lineup stands as follows:
Mr. Jacob (Jacob Paul) ,Dirty Birdie (Peter Wellman), Scoob (Austin King)
The sound they produce will make your ears bleed and your heart content, with one gosh darn intense drummer, heavy and intense walls of guitar and bass, and raging vocals that will make you reconsider the way you listen to music.
