Harbor WildWatch’s Pier Into the Night Live Dive @ Jerisich Dock
Dec 1 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Harbor WildWatch's Pier Into the Night Live Dive @ Jerisich Dock | San Diego | California | United States

Take an underwater journey of Gig Harbor Bay without getting wet (or needing special certification) through the Pier Into the Night experience!

While you stay warm and dry on the dock, our divers use an underwater video camera to live stream exactly what they encounter below the surface. Staff biologists and trained volunteers identify the plants and animals that appear on the 10 ft. screen. Animals we have encountered at past events include: Feather-duster tube worms; red Irish lorde, sculpin, and gunnels; red rock, kelp and graceful crabs; stubby squid; Giant Pacific Octopus, and much more!

This program takes place on Jerisich Public Dock in Downtown Gig Harbor, rain or shine. Dress for the weather and bring a chair. Suggested donation of $2 per person or $5 per family.

Lighted Boat Parade in Gig Harbor @ Gig Harbor
Dec 8 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Lighted Boat Parade in Gig Harbor @ Gig Harbor | Gig Harbor | Washington | United States

The Gig Harbor Lighted Boat Parade, sponsored by the Gig Harbor Yacht Club, will take place on Saturday, December 8th, 2018, beginning at 5:00 PM. A long line of brightly lit boats, including fishing vessels, pleasure boats and kayaks, will parade twice around Gig Harbor.

The parade route will start at Arabella’s Marina, proceed to the City Dock area, turn inside the harbor entrance, go down the north side of the harbor and turn again to pass by Anthony’s and the marinas in the western bay, and finally come back by Arabella’s and the City Dock before tracing the route a second time.

The lighted boat parade will be visible from many points around the harbor and is an excellent opportunity to gather friends, view the boats as they pass and celebrate the holidays and Gig Harbor’s maritime tradition.

All area boaters are very welcome to participate, and can sign up to receive details or more information by sending their name, boat name and length and email address to ghyclightedparade@gmail.com, or by going to the Gig Harbor Yacht Club website (whether you are a member or not), GigHarborYC.com and clicking on “Lighted Boat Parade” under “Event Calendar.”

We are hoping for a many boats, many lights, and enjoyment for all, whether on ship or ashore.
