Gig Harbor is flexing it’s muscles with paddle in hand in many different watercraft on April 2-3 at the Gig Harbor Paddlers Cup.
Come on down to Skansie Brothers Park Sat. April 2nd & 3rd to see members from the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Race Team who were on the 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015 USA Championship National Team in competitive races on the waters of Gig Harbor. … Sunday April 3rd come see the new Gig Harbor Dragon Boats. I will be joining one of the Dragon Boat Teams and you can watch and learn and then sign up to actually be on a team that will practice this Spring & Summer & Fall. Sign up on the The PenMet Parks website HERE. Dragon Boat Racing is great fun for anyone, young or old and participants of any level of fitness can quickly adapt to this sport. Historically it has been dominated by Asian countries but North America has emerged as a Dragon Boat Racing powerhouse.
On shore grab some famous geoduck chowder or try out JD’s new menu at the newly opened Gig Harbor Trolley and visit the various vendor booths throughout the park or hang out in the Club @ the Boatyard where you can join for only $1. If you want someone else to paddle for you, our very own year-round Venetian paddler in the famous Gig Harbor Gondola will provide rides out into the harbor. While downtown Gig Harbor be sure to stop by the Harbor History Museum to see the the East of Moscow; Russian Art Collection before it leaves on April 3rd.
